How it works

Three steps. No forms to decipher.

  1. 01

    Add your business and trucks

EIN, address, and your vehicles with their taxable gross weight. Import a spreadsheet if you run a fleet — one row per truck.

  2. 02

    We compute and pre-check

Tax is calculated per vehicle including partial-period and logging rates, then the return is validated against the IRS business rules before it goes anywhere.

  3. 03

    Transmit and get Schedule 1

We send the return straight to the IRS. Your stamped Schedule 1 comes back as an official IRS PDF — the proof of payment states ask for at registration.

What you get

Everything the filing actually needs.

Stamped Schedule 1

The official IRS-rendered PDF with the received watermark — the document states require for registration. Stored and downloadable whenever you need it again.

Pre-file validation

Every return is checked against the IRS business rules before transmission — EIN format, weight categories, payment rules, duplicate VINs. Problems surface here, not in a rejection.

Fleet import

Upload a spreadsheet of VINs and weights instead of typing. Built for carriers running dozens of trucks, not just owner-operators.

EFW or EFTPS

Pay by direct debit inside the return, or file now and pay through EFTPS yourself. Routing numbers are checksum-validated before anything is sent.

Amendments and VIN fixes

Mistyped a VIN, or a truck's weight increased mid-year? File a correction or amended return without starting over — and VIN corrections are free.

Encrypted at rest

Bank details and taxpayer identifiers are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they touch the database. We do not collect Social Security numbers at all.

Questions

The things people ask first.

When is Form 2290 due?

For vehicles already in service, the return covers July 1 through June 30 and is due by August 31. For a truck first used later in the year, it is due the last day of the month following the month of first use.

How fast do I get the stamped Schedule 1?

Usually within minutes of transmitting. The IRS returns it as an official PDF watermarked with the received date — that is the document your state asks for at registration.

Do I need to e-file?

The IRS requires e-filing for returns reporting 25 or more vehicles. Below that it is optional, but e-filing is how you get a stamped Schedule 1 the same day instead of waiting on mail.

Do you need my Social Security number?

No. The IRS schema makes the signing officer's SSN optional, and returns are accepted without it, so we do not ask for it or store it. You will need your business EIN.

What if the IRS rejects my return?

We validate against the IRS business rules before transmitting, so most problems are caught first. If a return is still rejected, we show you the exact rule and what to change, and re-filing a correction costs nothing.

Can I correct a VIN I typed wrong?

Yes, and it is free. A VIN correction is its own return type — you do not re-pay the tax, and you get a new stamped Schedule 1 with the right number on it.

How do I pay the tax itself?

Either direct debit from your bank account as part of the return, or through EFTPS on your own schedule. The filing fee you pay us is separate from the tax you pay the IRS.

What about suspended or low-mileage vehicles?

Trucks expected to run 5,000 miles or less (7,500 for agricultural vehicles) are reported as category W and no tax is due — but they still have to be on the return.
